Who We Are
The 1996 is the parent company for my Press-On Nail business, Set No. 96, and my crochet and fiber arts business, Twenty96. It created for anyone who enjoys a great custom piece that they can be involved in creating. I believe nails and clothes are more than a beauty accessory; they are an extension of your soul. Through both we can express our creativity and show off what inspires us all. 

Our Story

I began crocheting in college! Self-taught from YouTube videos. I made a few items for myself and from posting on social media, I began to receive orders for custom pieces. There were plenty of kinks to work out and after fine tuning my skills, Twenty96 was born. 

The SetNo.96 origin story is quite a good story.  The night before my birthday in 2020, I got my nails done by a professional and left utterly disappointed. They were thick and far from my inspiration and I was crushed. I went to my local nail salon to get them "fixed, but from that day forward, I promised myself that I would learn how to do my own nails. I wasn't interested in acrylic, so i dabbled in SNS Dip Nails, press-ons, and polygel nails. I eventually came to love the gel-x system for my monthly nail maintenance. What began as personal liberation from salons quickly grew into a love for creating art for others to wear.

What Makes Us Different
At The 1996, I focus on creating hand crafted fiber and nail art that can be custom fit to anyone's personal style. Every item is thoughtfully designed and a labor of the deepest love.

Our Style
My design inspiration motto is simple. Life imitates art far more often than art imitates life. My interpretation of that quote has always been that the two are intertwined and they do a beautiful dance. When choosing a nail design, we usually ask, "What vibe do I wanna give for the next 2 weeks". That question influences color choices, shapes, patterns, and all of the details. That nail set then becomes a daily boost to our ego. THAT is why I do what I do.

A Little About the Name
The 1996 is the origin. Decades of learned skills, creative ventures of many kinds, and finding joy in art.
Keeping the 96 in any journey I align with is my way of keeping myself centered and familiar.
